What is RoHS?

The RoHS directive stands for "Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing higher than agreed levels of 10 substances. The RoHS directive is effective as of July 1, 2006. It is designed to protect human life as well as nature and wildlife.

  • Mercury (Hg)  < 1000 ppm
  • Cadmium (Cd)  < 100 ppm
  • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)  < 1000 ppm
  • Hexavalent Chrome (Cr VI)  < 1000 ppm
  • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)  < 1000 ppm
  • Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP)  < 1000 ppm
  • Benzyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP)  < 1000 ppm
  • Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)  < 1000 ppm
  • Diisobutyl Phthalate (DIBP)  < 1000 ppm
